Doctor Who is on tonight, for those that enjoy that show. Just a friendly reminder.
Also, on Svengoolie, we have The Mole People. If you've not seen it, you simply must. It's great. I wrote a book about it (not quite but it was a rather lengthly commentary).

Anyone else curious about that werewolf series that Netflix is doing? It goes live on the network April 19th, IIRC. Also, it looks cool, from what I've seen (as in, more scary werewolves, less shirtless teen glitterboys).

Never even heard of it until you mentioned it. Hopefully not CGI werewolves.

Dunno. Given that it's modern, probably CGI werewolves. It's by Eli Roth and is the next "Netflix Original Series". The trailer looks kind of blah to me, really, but House of Cards was absolutely fantastic so I have hopes that Netflix will keep the quality flag flying.

The new scifi series Defiance isn't bad. From the hype about it I was afraid it would have about 20 minutes of programming and the rest would be showing a couple of tweens banging on their controllers playing the game but it wasn't like that at all. It's not as dark and layered as something like Battlestar Galactica and it isn't as light and funny as series like Warehouse 13 or Eurika but it's certainly worth giving a look at. Something else that's coming up later this year is a new scifi series called Helix and this definitely looks like something worth watching! www.theverge.com/2013/4/16/4229848/syfy-helix-first-teaser-trailer-ronald-moore-battlestar-galacticaRight now I watching several shows but I'm very happy that The Borgias are back on and I'm waiting for Joffery's wedding in Games of Thrones.

I've become very addicted to Vikings on the history channel. I was surprised to see such a good drama come from a channel that's never done it before but they got their ducks in a row there.

I like Vikings. (Why does Gabriel Byrne always have to be such a nasty character? I like that actor and yet I'm always so glad when someone finally kills him off.) There's a lot of strong and interesting characters in Vikings like Ragnor's wife, Lagertha (she kicks some ass!) but Floki is one of my favorites. The guy is just nuts! By the way, I never would have guessed this had I not read his bio but Floki's brother played Eric Northman in the True Blood series. I don't see any resemblance between the two and their choice of roles and acting styles are so different but I like them both.

Was House of Cards good? It was a political thriller right? It was filmed locally to me so of course all the local media gushed all over it and that just made me want to not bother. And i did enjoy Defiance Petite. Sort of an ATTEMPT to bring back the sci-fi western. But kinda just got me missing Star Gate Universe

We haven't watched the whole season but what I've seen so far has been excellent. Kevin Spacey is riveting. It's very very complex and devious and is a marvelous (and terrifying) example of how real politics get done. Imagine "The West Wing" with every ounce of decency and morals sucked out if it, and you have House of Cards.
