Dani and saw this on Valentine's Day. It's cute. If you are looking for a date movie with zombies, this is probably as good as it gets.

Was the ending as hideously treacly and sparkly as in the book? Also, does this forum have spoiler tags?

There was a book? Yes, the ending would make Spielberg gag for the sweetness. And lastly, not yet.

Yeah, I read the book but have not seen the movie. My reaction to the book was that it was WAY better than I was expecting it to be up till the last act, where it went full Princess Fairytale Bubblegum and ruined the nicely established sense of hopeless realism. The book was a cool look into what it would be like to be a zombie - I loved his random descriptions about riding the airport moving walkways for days on end, or staring blankly at TV screens with his friends, because he couldn't remember why but felt he should.

I didn't catch Warm Bodies while it was in the theaters so now I'm having to wait for the DVD release date (June 4). Comcast should have it OnDemand then and I'll watch it in my jammies, drinking a glass of wine. You can't do that out in a public theater so it works out pretty well! (Well, maybe you can but people would probably point and laugh at you.)

My opinion of the book is that it's not worth theater ticket prices anyway. Rental, yes, $15 tickets, no. Then again, a movie has to be the Avengers or LOTR to get me to spend $25 and face down the screaming theater hordes these days, when I can wait 2 months and see it on our bigscreen with a pipe and a beer.
(One of the few advantages of being self-employed is being able to go see movies at the Tuesday afternoon matinee shows, at least. NO teens...)
