Do I need to take off my shoes before I enter the workshop or will wiping them on the mat be sufficient?

Ha! That's just how I feel watching all those woodworking DIY shows. The guys are like, "Here, this is easy" and then they take you to several thousand dollars' worth of planers, saws, drill presses, lathes, and so on. I'm a professional woodworking dude and I don't have 1/20th the stuff in my shop that they do in those shows.

It always comes down to a matter of perspective, doesn't it? Don't laugh but last night I got very excited when I opened a bag in the storage room and found my hot glue gun. Now I'm actually hopeful that I'll finally be able to locate my handheld B&D "mouse" sander and Dremel tool. But my idea of a "workshop" is checking Weather.com for a couple of non-rainy days and dragging a heavy tarp into the driveway so I can work on refinishing a piece of furniture. I have plenty of light and great ventilation out there!
